Jan Coclough retired after working almost 20 years as a police officer with the District of Columbia Police Department (MPD). Jan has dedicated countless hours of patrolling the streets. Her past work may have been working on a beat, or traffic duty, patrolling the streets, investigating burglaries, responding to distress calls, or working with children in youth services, Jan exemplified the awareness that was necessary to be a law enforcement officer. During her police career she was presented with two important distinguished awards: The Special Enforcement Award for having captured a bank robber, as well as an additional award for having apprehended a Washington, DC rapist.
